A Year in Review...

Good evening all...it's almost next year!!

Have you all made your New Years resolutions?? Well I have....I have decided a good one for me would be to keep on top of the ironing. Now I hate ironing but once I get going I am fine but I normally stand for about 6 hours at a time so I thought if I did half an hour each night then i would feel the benefit of that. I had also thought about my weight loss but I think I have that under control and I am on my way to nearly 2 stones off so I don't have to worry there(touchwood).

I noticed that lots of you have been showcasing your favourite cards and I did already show my 5 favourite Christmas cards but I thought I would share my favourite cards from throughout the year for A Year in Review. Hopefully I can manage this before midnight!! So here goes.....

My favourite Christmas stamp from Sugar Nellie....

One of my favourite Sassy's and one of my first attempts a colouring with DI's with some inspiration from the fabby Elaine.

This one I made for Holly's birthday...looks a bit like her...

Ooooh just my favouritest...Pippi...

I love this one so much as this card took me the longest time ever!!

This little cutie is from Lili of the Valley....

I made this one for the Sassy blog....this Sassy scared me because of her hair, but the lovely Debbi has some fab tutorials on colouring and was really happy with the end result.

ooh...same paper different Sassy!!

just love these papers...so fresh...peek a boo birthday from Sugar Nellie.

Now then...my first SB DT card....and my favourite Gorjuss girl...

This one is a bit different ...love this stamp from SU!!

Merry Christmas....

Good morning windswept bloggers!! Well...what a day and night yesterday for us Scots...we had winds up to 160mph at parts of the day. The extreme weather caused havoc all over and I am so glad I didn't need to venture out!! It was a tad scary I have to say and I hope everyone was safe.

So I doodled away last night colouring in this stamp which is Festive Friends from Sugar Nellie and this time I coloured with copics and then glittered it up. I bought a few new colours so thought I would put them to the test although I haven't managed to get the right shade of green, so if anybody knows of a kind of lightish promarker green, let me know. Now when I saw the sketch over at Christmas Challenges, I had to try it...I do prefer lots of layers as I am kind of rubbish at the embellishments so With lots of layers I don't need to add too many other bits and bobs.
The papers are from Fancy Pants - Hot Chocolate collection, and they are yummy!! I have entered the challenges below. I layered the papers onto kraft card and edged them with a fine pen to give them a stitched look. I punched out the snowflake and glittered it up and then added a button and twine. I also added some twine around one of the layers and attached a snowflake charm.

Sugar Bowl Challenge #73

Good morning Sugar Addicts and my scheduled post. Before I tell you about today's challenge over at The Sugar Bowl, I thought I would share my news...I was slimmer of the week last night aaaaand slimmer of the month...so chuffed with myself.

So this week's challenge over at The Sugar Bowl is Cathy's sketch below...

...and of course the optional extra is "out of the ordinary" which means do something that you haven't done before.

As always the prize is 4 sugar Nellie stamps from the wonderful Funky Kits..

..but if there's over 100 entries then 6 stamps to one lucky winner!!

Now this threw me a bit as I was a bit stumped on what to do, so eventually I thought I would use some of that Tim Holtz Distress Paint...now as I haven't used it before I wasn't quite sure what it was meant to look like, so I am not that happy with this card.

I have used Bo Bunny - Snowfall papers, the stamp is Rosie from Sugar Nellie which I coloured with DI's but not impressed with my colouring on this as I can do better!! I edged each of the layers with picket fence paint which is supposed to be a little snowy or frosty looking but not sure about that and added a couple of snowflakes which I also duffed up a bit with the paint.
